Is my CDL school registered?

Search the FMCSA Training Provider Registry to check if your CDL school or training provider is registered for entry-level driver training.

Why it matters

Since February 7, 2022, federal ELDT regulations require entry-level drivers to complete training with a provider listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. This requirement applies when you're obtaining a Class A or Class B CDL for the first time, upgrading from Class B to Class A, or getting a school bus (S), passenger (P), or hazmat (H) endorsement for the first time.

Only training from a registered provider counts toward your ELDT certificate. Before you enroll, confirm that the school is registered for the specific license class or endorsement you need.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my CDL school need to be registered?

Since February 7, 2022, entry-level drivers must complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) with a provider listed on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. This applies to anyone seeking a Class A or Class B CDL for the first time, upgrading from Class B to Class A, or obtaining a school bus, passenger, or hazmat endorsement for the first time.

What if my school isn't listed?

Our data is a snapshot from the FMCSA Training Provider Registry and may not reflect real-time updates. If you don't find your school here, check the official FMCSA registry at tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov for the most current listing. FMCSA requires all ELDT training providers to register, so if a school is not listed on the official registry, you should verify their status before enrolling.

How current is this data?

This search uses data downloaded from the FMCSA Training Provider Registry as of October 2, 2026. The official registry at tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov has real-time data and is the authoritative source.

What training types are shown?

Results show what each provider is registered for: Class A CDL, Class B CDL, hazmat theory (H endorsement), passenger (P endorsement), and school bus (S endorsement). The registry tracks theory, range, and road training separately; we show a provider if they offer any component for that license class or endorsement.
