One CDL practice question a day.

CDL Prep Hero’s free Microsoft Edge extension puts a short practice question in your browser toolbar. Choose an answer and read the explanation before your next study session.

The extension is not yet available in Microsoft Edge Add-ons. This page will link to the official listing when it is approved.

80%. Each knowledge test requires at least 80 percent correct, under 49 CFR 383.135(a)(1). A practice score is not a guarantee of a passing result on your state’s test.

What the extension includes

  • 25 original multiple-choice questions in a repeating 25-day rotation—not an unlimited question bank.
  • A question selected by your device’s local calendar date when you open the popup. Reopening it that day shows the same question.
  • Immediate answer feedback, a short explanation, and a link to the official source.
  • General knowledge, permit rules, air brakes, combination vehicles, hazmat, tank, passenger and skills-test topics.
  • Offline questions. No account, browsing permissions, ads or extension analytics.

The extension does not replace your new-tab page, change your search engine, or read the websites you visit. It does not save scores or sync progress. Internet access is needed only when you choose to open a source, website or app-store link.

Build a broader study routine

Use the daily question as a warm-up, then take a free CDL practice test. Start with General Knowledge, add Air Brakes and Combination Vehicles when relevant, and check your state’s current CDL manual.

For lessons and more practice on your phone, see the separate CDL Prep Hero app for iPhone and Android. Browser and phone progress do not sync.

These are independent study questions, not official exam questions or approved entry-level driver training. Requirements vary by state and vehicle. Study only while safely parked.
